Seriously Government?

01Oct13

These are not my words and I do not know who said it. It was circulating on Facebook and perfectly describes what I am struggling to convey:

“The government shutdown is an appalling example of the failure of elected officials to do their jobs properly. Far from exerting leadership on behalf of the citizens of our nation, they are harming citizens by using this very cruel tool of government shutdown to score political points, as if this were some kind of game. It’s not a game, it’s real life for all people who depend on the federal government for income and services. Whatever our political differences on policy matters, this kind of official behavior is unjust and even immoral in the ways it hurts the very people government is supposed to serve.”

We elected you to fight for what is best for us, so freaking fight for us and stop your bickering/blame game. Real lives are on the line, this is not about who holds more power. I don’t care what side you are on, this does no good for anybody.
