November 4: Thankful for my Best Friend

In honor of my bestest’s birthday, I dedicate this post of thanks to her.

I met my BFF during my semester abroad in London. We were choosing our flatmates and she rounded out our 7-person flat. From the minute we met, we were instant friends and all my best memories and adventures include her. She has been through everything with me. From senior year of college where we thought we were invincible, to the world knocking us on our asses after graduation, to us finally being able to pick ourselves back up and tell the world to suck it.

We have been through hell and high water with each other. Moments we can’t stop talking about and moments we will never mention again. Our friendship has faced hard challenges with the ebbs and flows of life, but we have always stuck through it together. We are more alike than we would like to admit and always know how/what the other is thinking without having to say it. We don’t always agree with each other, but I know she will have my back no matter how stupid my plan is.

The older we get, the harder it seems to find friends like that. The increase in responsibilities seems to mean the decrease in friend time. But these are the relationships that mean the most in the end, and I am super lucky for the crazy people who put up with me.

Happy birthday to my BFF! I am very grateful to have you in my life.
